Lois trained as an artist in Philadelphia and then in Paris. She now lives in southeast England on a few acres crammed with fruit trees, a large vegetable plot, and some untamed flower beds. Chickens, ducks, horses and a pony are part of her morning and evening rituals. Daily, they inspire her to look, to create something new out of things she has seen so many times.
"I hope I do not undermine my subjects, and hope to breathe life and humour into my work. I try to keep my work uncluttered and easy to look at balancing the contrast between figurative elements and my love of colour."
