Elaine BoltWheel thrown porcelain vessels and wall pieces, with willow, wire and found objects.
Elaine's work is inspired by the colours and tones of the Sussex landscape, where the flint and chalk fields of the South Downs provide a distinctive backdrop. Her vessels make use of this restricted palette of deep flint blacks, through soft grey stony glazes to creamy chalk white; with added materials that offset the simplicity of the thrown form. Elaine's wall pieces make unconventional, quirky use of found objects and porcelain pieces, shifting the boarders between the made and the found. |
