Vicky OldfieldEverything has beauty but not everyone sees it, through her pictures Vicky hopes to inspire those who see her work to look more carefully at the world around them, to discover beauty in simplicity, to slow down and reconnect with nature, moment by moment. The pictures Vicky has selected for this exhibition are about bringing the outside in, living with objects that celebrate the natural world and small treasures that have a history full of narrative.
The prints are taken from plates which have been collaged with a variety of materials, card, fabric, paper, string, sand and anything else that may come to hand; it’s recycling at its most creative! The plates are then sealed, inked up and printed in intaglio or relief on damp paper using an etching press. The embossed textural quality of the print is unique to this method. Vicky is able to make small editions of the image, the editions are variable due to the process and her desire to experiment, which means each print is unique. |
