Daniel ColeSince leaving Falmouth School of Art a long time ago, Daniel has worked as a freelance artist/illustrator. Working mostly in the field of Natural History his work was used by the BBC and in books for publishers around the world.
He is a long time member of the Society of Wildlife Artists and his paintings of birds have won several awards , most recently the Swarovski Bird Artist of the Year 2016 at the Mall Gallery. Alongside his natural history inspired work , he also paints semi abstract landscape. Working in his studio using many field sketches, he plays with colour and hints at hidden lines and the geology of the landscape beneath the surface. For the last few years his work has been exploring the sand dunes and saltmarsh of the Norfolk and Cornish coast. A selection of Daniels paintings can be found on cards published by Dry Red Press and he also exhibits in London and in galleries throughout the UK. |
