Emily ThatcherEmily is inspired by studies taken from electron microscope images of cellular forms and imaging of molecular structures. She transforms these intriguing and beautiful compositions into silver and gold sculptural jewellery, high-lighted with unique gemstones.
When developing into three dimensions, she is particularly interested in how the weight and movement of the piece will interact with the body. Whether the wearing of the jewellery is symbolic of pure adornment, the piece should be an extension of the wearer. Surface finishes are used to create contrast, bright polish or a matt, brushed finish. |
