Caroline ReynoldsCaroline’s design inspiration is taken from life, natural patterns and shapes - embodying movement, light, texture and craft. Her recent work takes its cues from botanical form and structure - seed pods, blossom, leaves, buds and twigs. Caroline can often be seen gleaning beautiful, miraculous, miniature pieces of nature while walking across the Ashdown Forest in Sussex with her dog, Woody.
Caroline hand constructs all her own work in silver and gold using piercing, soldering and forging techniques. Surface texture and finishes are applied using roll-printing, etching, oxidising and punches. Gemstones are carefully chosen to add light, colour, warmth and richness. She has a fascination for detail and pattern and uses the two to layer and build miniature ‘scenes’ on brooches, or simplifying a leaf structure on a pendant, adding pattern and detail on the reverse, making the back as beautiful as the front. |
