Richard BaxterA professional potter for 36 years, Richard has made over 100,000 pots. Working full time from his studio and gallery in Leigh on Sea, Essex, he teaches, lectures and demonstrates in schools, colleges and for potters’ groups.
In 2014 Richard represented the UK in Buenos Aires at South America’s premier ceramics symposium, making examples of his work and lecturing on his career in pottery which includes some interesting connections. "I made some large porcelain bowls for Stella McCartney for her Hong Kong and Paris stores and made jugs for Heston Blumenthal’s Roman Feast C4 show. David Chipperfield RA (architect of Turner Gallery) owns 2 bowls. Guardian cook/poverty activist Jack Monroe uses my dinner ware for recipe photoshoots." |
