Tricia ThomTricia's work takes much references form her love of a Japanese aesthetic. It seeks to express something of connections between people. Teapots and moon jars speak to her as symbols of community and ritual.
The pieces are wheel-thrown porcelain. Some surfaces are punctuated rhythmically inside and outside and applied with simple, clear and celadon glazes. Some surfaces have intuitive, calligraphic brush marks which serve to compliment the uniformity of the thrown form. |
